Let’s Talk About The Olaplex No. 0 Bond Building Treatment:

From endless different oils and masks to leave-in conditioners claiming to “repair and strengthen” hair, and while yes, they do help the hair, nothing quite works as well as the wonders of Olaplex.

They may be the new kids on the block, but no company has quite stormed the professional market like Olaplex.

But while you may not be able to use professional treatment no. 1 and 2 at home, Olaplex has recently introduced no.0, which is an intense at-home bond-building treatment that can be used with Olaplex no.3

It takes the best qualities from the two professional treatments in a slightly less intense version so anyone can use it at home.

It contains the legendary ingredient “Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate,” which put Olaplex on the map. It works on a molecular level to repair the broken bonds within the hair caused by chemical, thermal, environmental, and mechanical damage.

In this review, I am going to break down the key qualities of the Olaplex no.0 and how it goes hand in hand with the no.3 hair perfector treatment to repair damaged bonds and restore hair.

Let’s jump in.

How The Olaplex No. 0 Bond Building Treatment Works:

Olaplex No. 0 is a deep bonding treatment; it primes the hair for maximum repair. Just like when we do our makeup, most products work best after using a primer. So No.0 is used as a primer for the No. 3 treatment.

Essentially the No.0  intensive bond-building treatment is nothing without its trusty sidekick, Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector. The Olaplex No. 0 preps the hair for Olaplex No.3, and then once No.3 is applied, they work together to offer the ultimate repair.

It is part of the two-part process for an intensive at-home reparative treatment.

It works best on damp hair, No. 0 is a watery liquid that dries quickly, but when No.3 is applied over it, it helps keep the hair damp so both products can work together to offer maximum repair and bond restoring. It is scientifically proven to offer 68% more repair.

The No.0 contains less of the active ingredient than the Stand-Alone treatment as it was created during COVID-19 lockdown so clients could perform the treatment at home, so they didn’t need to spend as much time in the salon.

No.0 is a salon-worthy treatment that works on all hair types and textures (just like their entire line). It is best for those with intensely damaged hair and who want to see results fast! Olaplex No.0 works to prime hair to absorb the nourishment, work to rebuild hair bonds, strengthen, all while protecting hair integrity.

The patented system is known to noticeably repair extreme damage to hair, turning dry, brittle hair into soft, shiny, and more resilient hair; it can be used on dry hair.

The best way to use Olaplex No.0 is to apply it to clean dry hair and comb it through to ensure even coverage. You should use it with the No. 3 treatment as despite the No. 0 treatment working alone, it works better and offers better results when paired with No.3.

Leave the No. 0 treatment on for 10 minutes and then apply Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector directly on top of the No.0. Comb it through again and leave it to sit for a minimum of 10 minutes, but if you want better results, then you should leave it on for longer!

But don’t worry, I’ve made a full guide on how to use Olaplex No. 0 and 3 for the ultimate hair repair and hair goals results.

What We Think Of Olaplex No.0 At Beautists:

Personally, my hair has been through a lot over the years, I love my bleach blonde highlights, but they really do put a lot of stress on my tresses. I personally love using this treatment when my hair needs a good SOS revival.

It’s fair to say when your hair needs a bit of TLC, the No.0 treatment is your gal.

The squeezy bottle and precise nozzle were really easy to use; it made the application straightforward and simple. But since you work through layer by layer, those with thicker hair may find that they’re sitting there for a while.

The formula dries fast, too, so by quickly working through section by section, starting underneath, it was easier to apply quickly. Then I ran through the wide-tooth comb to help detangle and evenly distribute the treatment.

I loved the fact that this treatment goes hand in hand with Olaplex No.3 to repair strands. Yes, it is a little bit heavier on the wallet, but if you’re a bleach blondie, like me, then it’s worth it. It repairs damaged strands that seem beyond repair!

After leaving the product in for 10 minutes I went in and applied No.3 all over. You don’t need too much as the product is very concentrated; it may seem like you’re not applying enough but trust me when you rinse it out, you notice the difference.

Olaplex No.3 works to keep the hair damp so the Olaplex No. 0 and 3 can work together to work their magic and revive the hair to its former glory. You can also use Olaplex’s shampoo and conditioner for the ultimate repair kit.

After washing and blow-drying like usual, my hair was visibly less frizzy and more manageable; it made my hair feel like silk. Since, in most cases, frizz is either caused by lack of moisture or damage, this repair treatment repaired my hair which tamed my frizz.

This pre-wash treatment truly works wonders.

Just remember this is not a conditioning treatment, only a repair treatment, so follow up with your shampoo and conditioner, and once a week, apply a moisturizing hair masque to ensure all the goodness from the treatment is retained.

All in all Olaplex No.0 gets a huge thumbs up from us at Beautists, as long as you use it with Olaplex No.3, this will ensure your hair gets the best results from this treatment. If you have extremely damaged hair but can’t afford to go to the salon for an Olaplex treatment every few weeks, this at-home treatment is the answer!

So at Beautists, Olaplex No. 0 gets a huge YES!
