Olaplex No.0 Intensive Bond Building Treatment

What Is Olaplex 0?

What is Olaplex? What does Olaplex 0 do, and is it worth buying? Olaplex is a revolutionary brand that is absolutely worth the investment. Olaplex No. 0 and 3 work wonders together, and here’s why.

Olaplex No 0 is a professional-inspired treatment that primes hair for deeper repair with the highest dose of Olaplex technology than any take-home product.

It works to rebuild hair bonds prime hair for intense repair; when used with No. 3, it primes hair and boosts the effectiveness and benefits that Olaplex No. 3 has to offer.

This dynamic duo works together to give your hair the most powerful at-home treatment. But how exactly does it work?

Well, for starters, Olaplex No.0 works to prime hair to absorb the nourishment, work to rebuild hair bonds, strengthen, all while protecting hair integrity.

The patented system is known to noticeably repair extreme damage to hair, turning dry, brittle hair into soft, shiny, and more resilient hair; it can be used on dry hair.

Just like all of the rest of the Olaplex products, it is free of sulfates, oils, silicones while also being free of DEA, Aldehydes, and Formaldehyde, so it is ideal for all hair types!

What Is Olaplex 3?

So what is Olaplex No. 3, and is it worth the hype? Olaplex No.3 is what put the brand on the map; this intensive at-home treatment uses the best qualities of their professional products no.1 and 2.

It was designed to be used at home, in between chemical and color treatments to help prevent and repair damage caused by chemical treatments such as bleaching.

It is a weekly at-home treatment that reduces breakage and visibly strengthens hair to improve the look and feel of all hair types. It is recommended to be used once or twice a week (depending on the condition of the hair) on damp hair from roots to ends.

How Does Olaplex No.3 Do?

Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector uses a single molecule, free of silicones and oils, to dramatically improve hair strength and protect it from within. You will notice the results even after one use.

Olaplex’s patented technology will noticeably repair damaged hair, turning dry and brittle hair into soft, shiny, and more resilient hair by providing repair from the inside out.

How do you use Olaplex No. 3 anyway?

Olaplex No. 3 works with No. 0 to repair bonds, the No. 0 works to prime hair for ultimate nourishment and help increase the benefits that the No.3 has to offer.

This dynamic duo works together to give your hair the most powerful at-home treatment.

It works to repair bonds by speeding up the bonding process, so the hair reconnects to a single oxygen molecule rather than three oxygen molecules. In layman’s terms, it repairs bonding in the hair.

All in all, the key benefits of Olaplex No.3 are that it strengthens and repairs hair structure, restores health and texture, maintains strength and integrity while reducing breakage.

Olaplex no 3

How To Use Olaplex 0 On Hair:

You can use Olaplex No. 0 as a standalone treatment for chemically treated hair or damaged hair. Or you can use it with the Olaplex No. 3, but here’s the best way to use it on its own.

You can apply Olaplex No.0 to dry hair and saturate the hair with the treatment to help jumpstart repair deep within the hair strand.

Be sure to work the product through the hair for even coverage; I tend to use a comb and rub it in between my hands to ensure even coverage from the root to ends and full saturation.

Then wait at least 10 minutes if you’re using it as a standalone treatment, or wait 10 minutes and then apply Olaplex No. 3.

How To Apply Olaplex No. 0 and 3 Together:

So for the ultimate reparative treatment, you can use Olaplex No. 0 intensive bond-building treatment with No. 3 Hair Perfector. It works wonders for more intensely damaged hair.

Olaplex No.3 works to reduce breakage and split ends, and when paired with No. 0, the No. 0 works to prep and prime hair so you can reap the most benefits of Olaplex No. 3.

After applying No. 0 for 10 minutes, you should apply Olaplex No. 3 over the roots and ends of your hair. This should help keep your hair damp so the treatments can work wonders.

It is scientifically proven that Olaplex No. 0 and 3 together offer 68% more repair, leaving hair feeling 3x stronger than before. So using it over time has some serious benefits.

Leave the two treatments on your hair for at least 10 minutes. According to Olaplex, this treatment becomes less effective when your hair becomes dry.

So after 30-45 minutes, depending on your hair structure. If you have fine or short hair, then you can rinse after around 30 minutes, but for shoulder-length hair or long hair, it may be longer.

Then once the time is up, you should wash and condition with the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner; using the Olaplex range is highly recommended after using Olaplex treatments so you can have the ultimate repair.

I personally love the Olaplex No. 4 and 5 for repairing my hair when it needs intense treatment.

How To Use Olaplex 0, 3, and 8:

Want something that takes repair 1 step further? Then you can also use Olaplex No. 8 hair mask with the no. 0 and 3 treatment for ultimate hair repair on broken bonds.

The first step is to apply Olaplex No. 0 and saturate dry hair (like I explained in the step above). Then divide your hair into sections and apply to the ends that have the most damage.

But more than the other sections, you still want everything to be saturated and evenly distributed.

Leave it on your hair for 10 minutes, and then apply Olaplex No. 3 from the roots to the ends of your hair, then comb it through to ensure even coverage and to keep your hair damp.

Then after 30-45 minutes, you should shampoo your hair (as said above) but instead of using the Olaplex Conditioner instead, apply Olaplex No.8.

Olaplex No. 8 is a bond intense moisture mask that will help hydrate and nourish the ends of your hair. Less is always more with Olaplex, so you will only need a pea-sized to a grape-sized amount.

I like to apply and then comb through using a wide-tooth comb for even distribution.

Rub the Olaplex No. 8 in between your hands before applying; this will help ensure even coverage and evenly distribute the product throughout your hair. If you have some time on your hands, then leave it on for an hour or so, then rinse off.

But if you’re in a rush, then apply for at least 10 minutes and rinse off. Try to avoid the root area to prevent an oily scalp.

Olaplex No. 8 is also brilliant for curly and afro hair; it is deeply hydrating and safe to apply to curly, wet hair. The entire Olaplex line is safe to use on curly hair.

But the No. 8 in particular works wonders; it deeply revives, hydrates, and protects the cuticle so you can have shiny hair; it even works to define curls as it provides the hydration it needs.

But how to use Olaplex on curly hair is a whole different guide, my friends.

How Often Should I Use Olaplex 0?

So how often should I use olaplex 0, and how long should I leave it on? For best results, you should use Olaplex No.0 as part of the two-part system once or twice a week.

If your hair is just a little bit damaged, then once will be fine, but for extremely damaged hair, you’ll want to be using these hair products twice a week or three times a week if your hair feels beyond repair.

The Olaplex No. 0 should see you through 3-6 applications depending on your hair length and thickness. You can leave it on your hair for up to 45 minutes.

But don’t worry, the Olaplex 3 will last you for months as you only need a small amount.

But don’t panic if you leave it on for longer; it won’t damage your hair; after all, it just loses efficiency once your hair is dry, so rinsing around the 45-minute mark is ideal.

If you’re recommending this product to be used on your clients’ hair, then they should use it once a week in between Olaplex or chemical treatments. The active ingredient in Olaplex No.0 and 3 is used in the professional No 1 and 2 and offers dramatic results for damaged bonds.

You can even use Olaplex No. 3 alone, but I talk about this in a separate guide.
