How To Naturally Stimulate Hair Growth:

Some easy natural remedies will stimulate your hair growth. While this may not work for everyone as everyone is different, you can try a few methods.

These methods focus mainly on stimulating the hair follicles to naturally grow the hair, such as applying something to your scalp to infuse it with healthy nutrients.

Working out what is easy to fit into your routine and works best for you is the best first step to take. Here are some of the best ways to stimulate hair growth naturally:

Give yourself a scalp massage:

This may be fairly simple, but it has been proven extremely effective; knowing how to massage your scalp the right way can really help with hair growth.

We spend so much time piling on the hair products without massaging them into our scalp; we often forget that this is where the hair growth starts and where to target.

Like with plants, healthy, good quality soil is essential for healthy plant growth; if the soil is poor, the plant will struggle to grow or die quickly.

This is the same concept for healthy hair growth; a scalp massage has serious benefits on hair growth and stress levels, blood pressure, and heart rate.

The best way to stimulate hair growth is to give yourself a scalp massage, increasing blood flow to your scalp, strengthening your roots, and help nutrients reach the follicle faster.

Now while massaging your scalp while dry will stimulate the blood flow, for best results on hair growth I would recommend using with an nourishing oil. Essential oils like lavendar oil, rosemary oil or peppermint oil are all brilliant for stimulating hair growth.

You can massage your scalp for as little as 5 minutes a day and once a week with the oils for 10-20 minutes if you have an oily scalp.

How to massage your scalp:

Using your fingertips, apply light to medium pressure to your scalp, moving in small circles, work your way across your scalp to cover all areas.

Massaging your scalp every day will enhance blood circulation and strengthen your hair follicles, but be sure to do it gently and not vigorously, as this can cause breakage.

Also, only use oils once a week and always shampoo after; oils can attract dirt to your scalp. Since shampooing your hair every day isn’t recommended, you should oil your hair when you shampoo once a week.

Massaging your hair and scalp for five minutes twice a day can really help promote hair growth and prevent hair loss.

Egg yolk hair mask:

Eggs are seriously high in protein, which is essential for growing bonds and strengthening the hair follicle. Proteins are full of amino acids that make up the structure of our hair, skin, nails, muscles, etc.

While it is quite difficult to speed up the hair growth process, we can affect the quality of the hair shafts, so your hair produces thicker, stronger, and shinier locks.

Eggs with strengthening nourish and head your strands, plus they’re high in sulfur content, making them ideal for tackling scalp issues like dandruff.

Mixing eggs with olive oil will be your dream hair mask for strengthening your hair.

Olive oil also contains protein, antioxidants, antimicrobial agents, which will also contribute to healthy hair. Olive oil will strengthen the hair follicle, which can speed up hair growth.

To make this mask, all you need to do is mix two eggs with a tablespoon of olive oil, add 1/2 water to dilute the mixture, and apply directly to dry, brushed hair, and leave it on for up to 30 minutes.

Then wash your hair, shampoo, and condition like usual. This protein-filled treatment will be sure to stimulate hair follicles and your growth cycle and help your hair to grow.

Hot castor oil treatment:

If you’ve never tried using castor oil on your hair, you’re seriously missing out. The benefits of castor oil are out of this world; some say it’s even better than coconut oil.

For starters, castor oil has anti-fungal and antibacterial properties, which help combat scalp infections that prevent your hair from growing.

It is also filled with omega-6, fatty acids, vitamin E, proteins, and other nutrients, which can penetrate your dry strands and revive your hair with moisture.

Using castor oil as a hot treatment will help your scalp soak up all the nutrients and promote hair growth. This type of treatment will thrive on low porosity hair.

Massage the castor oil into your scalp and massage for 5 minutes, applying all the way from your roots to the ends. Pile your hair on top of your head and cover it with a shower cap. Either sit under a hooded dryer or heat with a hair dryer for 15 minutes.

Then wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner like usual, and your hair will feel softer and silkier after one wash. This will help stimulate hair growth by strengthening the hair follicles, which will boost hair growth.

Use Lemon Juice:

Using lemon juice is another brilliant way to stimulate hair follicles and promote hair growth; it can also prevent hair loss.

You can mix it with essential oils and massage it into your scalp for half an hour before washing it out; this will help boost healthy hair growth.

Take Hair Growth Vitamins for healthy fats:

It’s easy to take a hair growth supplement, but it is still questioned whether it is an effective way to help your hair grow faster.

They contain unnecessarily large amounts of vitamins and minerals, which can actually wreak havoc in other ways, such as biotin can actually cause you to breakout.

Eating your vitamins is a much smarter and better way to make your hair grow faster; vitamins and minerals naturally occur in food are easier for your body to use.

They’ll also naturally deliver a healthier ratio of nutrients such as plenty of healthy fats like omega 3 fatty acids, which can help promote hair growth.

Since our body cannot produce omega 3 fatty acids on its own, it is crucial to get these fats through our diet; they nourish the hair follicles and strengthen hair strands to give a strong, shiny glow.

A great source of omega 3 fatty acids include salmon, tuna, walnuts, soybean, canola oil, flaxseeds.

These natural remedies will be sure to boost the growth cycle and help you grow your hair strands. Natural hair health is super important in order to strengthen the hair shaft and promote new hair.

Lifestyle Changes For Hair Growth:

You may wonder whether there are any other ways to stimulate hair growth, something as simple as making a few lifestyle changes will be sure to boost hair growth.

Reduce heat styling:

Heat styling your hair is the top thing to damage your hair. The best way to promote a healthy scalp, prevent split ends, and reduce hair breakage and frizz.

Your hair will continue to grow at the same speed, well, slightly slower, but since your hair strands are covered in split ends, this will leave the ends of your hair looking thin and prone to breakage.

Your hair won’t make it past your shoulders without breaking and without hair damage. If you’re trying to grow your hair, air dry your hair and avoid using heat tools.

That being said, your hair is most fragile when wet and most prone to breakage; never go to sleep with wet hair as this will cause unnecessary breakage and stress on your hair.

Instead, gently blow dry your hair on low heat, with a heat protectant spray, and maintain regular treatments to strengthen the hair strand.

Also, avoid brushing your hair while wet; if you have to brush your hair, use a wide-tooth comb or detangler with a leave-in conditioner to prevent snagging or pulling.

If you have curly or natural hair and have no choice about brushing your hair while wet, then be patient and don’t tug or pull on the strands, as this can damage the hair’s health and cause breakage.

Avoid over shampooing:

Over shampooing your hair can cause hair breakage, dry and brittle hair strands, and even hair loss. Shampoos that contain sulfates can strip the hair of its natural oils.

For thicker, coarser hair types, you can get away with wash your hair every few days, but fine hair becomes greasy after what feels like a day.

My top tip is to dry shampoo between each shampoo; alcohol-free dry shampoos are recommended as this won’t dry out the ends.

For natural or curly hair, you can also benefit from doing a co-wash in between shampoos; this will help nourish the ends of the hair to prevent dryness or breakage while promoting a healthy scalp.

Have regular hair trims:

How often you should get your hair trimmed comes into question when talking about hair care; many of us think that trimming our hair regularly will not let it grow.

But this is actually not the case.

Regular trims get rid of dry, damaged split ends, which is essential for healthy growth. If split ends are left untreated, they can work their way up the hair shaft, causing even more breakage.

That being said, if you have too much off every time you get your hair trimmed, your hair won’t grow either; it’s all about finding that right balance.

Depending on your hair type, you can get away with needing a trim every six weeks to every six months. Caring for your hair on a day-to-day basis will mean that you’ll need trims less often, and your hair can grow naturally and healthily.

Brush gently when detangling:

When brushing your hair, you have to be extra careful as brushing vigorously can actually cause a lot of breakage on your hair, especially if you’re brushing wet strands.

When your hair is wet, your hair is weakest; tugging, snagging, or pulling wet strands can cause a whirl of breakage and can be extremely damaging for your hair strands.

This will take an awful lot of time and patience to detangle the knots in your hair properly, but it is a super important step in growing your strands faster; it should most definitely not be rushed.

If you quickly rip your brush through your hair and then say, “that’s enough,” this may be the top reason your hair isn’t growing. It will cause your hair strands to break and split.

The brush you’re using also makes a world of difference; using a wide-toothed comb, detangling brush, or a paddle brush can make a world of difference for gently combing through knots and causing minimal breakage.

You should instead comb through your knots before washing your hair or once your hair is completely dry. If you have curly hair, gently comb through your knots while the conditioner is on or once you’ve applied leave-in conditioner.

Sleep on a silk pillowcase:

Exposing your hair too rough materials actually has a lot to do with the breakage you experience, your pillowcase included.

Cotton pillowcases can cause friction on your hair as you toss and turn in your sleep; this can cause breakage, frizz split ends. This breakage can stop your hair from growing and weaken the strands.

Now sleeping while your hair is wet is still a no-no, but sleeping on a silk pillow will massively promote the health of your hair and prevent breakage and hair loss.

You should also switch your cotton towel for a microfibre towel; this helps promote hair health and prevents breakage. Check out my full guide for all the benefits here.
