Real Techniques Makeup Brushes

When it comes to reviewing a new makeup brush trending, I always get excited, and yes, I get caught up in the craze. This is why I’m here today to review the Real Techniques Everyday Essentials Makeup Brush Set to see if it’s worth all the hype.

I love a good ol’ brush set as much as any other girl, it’s a brilliant way to get into makeup and much more budget-friendly than buying brushes individually, but I find that you get more than you want, with some brushes you may not ever use.

So what about the Real Techniques Everyday Essentials? At first glance, this brush set has a Blush brush, Blending sponge, a Crease brush, Setting brush, and an Expert Face Brush which is everything you may need in your everyday makeup routine.

Today there are thousands of makeup brush sets on the market, but only a few give satisfaction to the user. Some brush sets are just poorly made or have more brushes than you can count, which can make your job confusing.

I am reviewing Real Techniques today as I am passionate about finding cruelty-free and vegan options to combat animal testing while blending and apply makeup like a dream.  Most users shy away from vegan products as they feel that they won’t be as good quality as the original but let me tell you, they are even better!

Real Techniques always seems to stand out from the crowd when it comes to their makeup brushes, thanks to their good quality and straightforward sets that any user of any skill can use.

Plus, with thousands of reviews and being sold by almost every retailer, it definitely fits up to the bill of a good quality product for the price point. Their groundbreaking cruelty-free and vegan design that blends makeup like a dream is definitely worth every penny.

You’ve probably noticed these brushes in boots or on Amazon and asking yourself whether it is worth making the splurge, well then let me tell you, it is definitely worth it for good quality at an affordable price point.

Let’s break it down so we can get into the wonders of these brilliant makeup brushes:

What’s in the set:

First thing’s first, let’s get into each brush and what the purpose is for each.

400 Blush Brush:

This Real Techniques set comes with a soft, tapered bristles  Blush Brush, which will effortlessly blend powder plush into a smooth, natural finish.

If you’re a blusher girl, you will love the finish you get from using this brush; it is also brilliant for bronzer and powder. It works like a treat!

Miracle Complexion Sponge:

Next up is the Miracle Complexion Sponge; this is a 3-in-1 makeup blender with 3 different surfaces to cater to all the nooks and crannies on your face while applying foundation.

It uses a soft, flexible foam and the rounded sides effortlessly blend foundation into large areas of your face using a ‘stippling action.’ At the same time, the precision tip conceals all blemishes and will get into all the small spaces which may be missed.

The flat surface is brilliant for contouring around your eyes and nose for a highlighted base.

It says you can use dry or damp depending on the coverage you’re looking for, but I would recommend soaking your sponge first until it doubles in size, drain out any residue water then go in with the foundation.

After all, despite this sponge being made for makeup, it is still a sponge and will soak up your product if it is dry. I found that wetting down the surface made your product go a lot further than not doing so. (Plus, it gives you a dewy glow).

300 Deluxe Crease Brush

The Deluxe Crease Brush is an eyeshadow brush with short, dense bristles which offer expert layering and blending for both cream and powder eyeshadows.

It applies effortlessly to the crease and works wonders for building up and blending eyeshadow looks.

402 Setting Brush

This set also comes with a fluffy makeup brush designed for dusting on setting powders or highlighters on the creases of your face.

This brush is brilliant for baking your face with setting powder or to add a little bit of highlight on the temples of your cheeks and nose.

200 Expert Face Brush:

This face brush has firm bristles for buffing both liquid and cream foundations. I used this brush a few years back, and now it is my go-to for my foundation.

I use it to apply and buff my foundation onto my face before going in with my beauty blender by Real Techniques to blend in any harsh lines and leave my base looking dewy and glowing for the rest of my makeup.

This brush buffs and blends with complete ease and will leave your skin looking flawless and radiant.

Price:

Now in terms of price, you cannot get better than Real Techniques. This whole set is £20 in total, which means that each brush is only £5 each! When buying a brush set, you may think that the price is quite tall, but it is much cheaper than buying them individually when you break it down.

Each brush is also made from good quality bristles which will last you a long time before they need replacing. As with any brush, regular cleaning and care will make them last longer.

Cruelty-free and Vegan:

One thing I love about Real Techniques is the fact that all their brushes are cruelty-free and vegan and combat animal testing. A brand with such a good reputation as Real Techniques being Vegan sets a good standard for others to follow.

Their brushes are made with synthetic materials, making them much more durable than natural hair brushes, and it makes them much easier to clean, so a big thumbs up from me!

Summary:

So overall, do I think that Real Techniques is worth spending your money on? Definitely! Their Everyday Makeup set is brilliant and has everything you need for basic everyday makeup.

I reach for these brushes daily; they blend out and apply your makeup effortlessly and like an absolute dream. They will always have a place in my heart for the benefits they have by being vegan too.

If you’re a beginner or even an advanced makeup artist looking to strip their sets back to the basics with good quality brushes, then Real Techniques is your best bet!

You need to try these bad boys out.
