But how do you blow-dry men’s hair?

Any man can benefit from blow-drying their hair, especially balding men or those whose hair is starting to thin out; it can help give you a denser, fuller look.

It even gives your style maximum results that will hold in all day.

So stay tuned for how to blow dry men’s hair easily for a blowout that will be sure to catch all the ladies’ (or men’s) eyes when out at the bar or out with friends.

Let’s jump in!

How To Blow Dry Hair For Volume:

When blow-drying hair, you can shape your hair using less product and help lock your style in place for longer. Using a combination of the right products and techniques to achieve this voluminous finish.

Say goodbye to greasy, hard, dry hair and hello to natural volume!

Step One: Wash Your Hair:

The best way to achieve a long-lasting style is to have a clean slate to start with; having freshly washed hair is the foundation for a hairstyle to last.

So wash your hair like usual using your 6-in-1 shampoo for face, body, hair, floor, car, dishwasher… Whatever concoction you men use to clean your hair– that’s the good stuff after all, am I right?.

If your manhood isn’t too threatened, I would also recommend applying some of your girlfriend’s conditioner to the ends of your hair (or don’t), but this will help protect your strands from the hot air.

It will help your hair retain its natural oils to minimize breakage, dryness, and frizz.

Step Two: Towel Dry Your Hair:

Next up is to towel dry your hair; blow-drying your sopping wet hair will slow down the blow drying process and mean your hair is more exposed to heat, which can cause damage to your hair.

If you have short, back and sides, you don’t need to worry too much, but if you have that cool, long beachy look going, I would recommend towel drying first.

If you have longer hair, I would also recommend using a heat protectant product; this will protect your hair follicles from heat damage from the hairdryer.

Step Three: Dry The Sides:

Grab your hair dryer and start to blow dry the sides before going onto the top. Use the concentrator nozzle on your blow dryer to direct heat and keep airflow in one direction.

You can use either cold air to rough, dry your strands or warm hair.

Step Four: Grab A Round Brush:

Now for the top, grab yourself a round brush– this will help add volume if you have thin hair.

Make sure you try to lift the root using the round brush; this will help create volume. So top tip every time you lift the brush, pull the hair upward, so wrap, lift and pull the hair as you go.

Using a round brush will also help create more tension and more control when drying your hair.

Continue to lift the brush and backward for more volume, use warm/hot air to create the style them run over with cool air, as cold air locks in the hair style. You can do this using the cool shot button– if you have one.

Step Five: Style With Your Hair Products:

Once you’re happy with your hairstyle, use a dime-sized amount of hair product and run it through your hair to evenly distribute the product.

This will help hold in the hair to stop it from looking messy. But don’t add too much as the heat will hold in the hairstyle and give a healthy, natural-looking finish.

How To Blow Men’s Curly Hair

If you have curly hair, then blow-drying your hair might be slightly different; to style your curls without the frizz and with a style that will last for days, stay tuned for the technique!

Step One: Wash and Detangle:

So just like the last method I spoke about above, you’re going to need a blank canvas to work with, so you’re going to need to give your hair a good wash and condition.

Curly hair is the most fragile hair type of them all, so I would recommend investing in a sulfate-free shampoo and moisturizing conditioner.

Brushing your hair while dry can also cause a storm of frizz, so try to detangle your curls in the shower using a wide-tooth comb– it’s easier if you have conditioner on when you do this to prevent snagging.

Step Two: Apply Styling Products:

Unlike the previous method, you will apply most of your products before using the blow dryer. Using a primer gel on damp hair is brilliant for defining curls without the frizz.

Don’t forget your heat protectant spray, as since curly hair is most prone to frizz and damage; it’s important to protect it.

Step Three: Use A Diffuser:

If you’re not quite sure what a diffuser is, it is an attachment you can add to your hair dryer to help evenly distribute airflow over large areas. It cradles curls and gently dries them without disturbing the natural curl shape.

You can either leave your curls to air dry or use a diffuser, but a diffuser is a super handy attachment to have.

If you want more volume, diffuse your hair roots upside down and gently scrunch your curls; this should help add volume and define the curl.

Then apply your hairspray to hold in style for longer and help protect your hair from the humidity. If you have a slight cast on the outside of your hair from the gel, give it a little scrunch to “scrunch out the crunch” and break down the hard casting.

Summary:

So there you have it, building your blow-drying skills has some serious perks when you style your hair; you can achieve a more natural look without the greasy finish.

Adding a little volume to your hair can help disguise issues such as a receding hairline or if your hair is thinning around the crown.

All hair types can benefit from a good blow-dry, not just the ladies. Give it a go today!
