Let’s Talk About The Aveda Sap Moss Shampoo:

As the Sap Moss makes a glowing return to the shelves after being discontinued, we are reunited with the beauty product that we all know and love. The sap moss range is up there with my favorite products in my hair care routine.

With an updated ingredient list, the original formula has upped their game with a fusion of plant-powered ingredients. This shampoo and conditioner duo suits any hair type but is loved amongst those with curly or textured hair.

So with an updated formula, this means it’s time for a well-deserving updated review!

This silicone-free shampoo is formulated with a blend of Iceland moss and larch tree sap extract, which hydrates hair without weighing it down. It gently cleanses without stripping the hair and infuses the hair with weightless hydration.

This formula is perfect for fine-textured curls, as it helps tame frizz while feeling weightless. It will leave your hair feeling perfectly quenched and manageable. Perfect for those that want hydration but without the weight.

In this review, I will be going over how the Aveda Sap Moss Shampoo works, who it is for, and my thoughts on the product as to whether the new formula is worth your buck. So stay tuned, my friends, won’t want to miss this.

How The Sap Moss ShampooWorks:

It’s time to quench your hair’s thirst with the Aveda Sap Moss Shampoo that offers weightless hydration.

The natural blend of Iceland Moss and Larch Tree Sap Extract in Aveda’s 94% naturally derived formula increases hair hydration by 81%. 9 out of 10 women of all hair textures also found their hair was immediately left hydrated but not at all weighed down.

So let’s talk about how these ingredients work with one another to offer weightless hydration.

For starters, Iceland Moss is extremely moisturizing for the scalp. The sebaceous glands present on the secret scalp sebum are responsible for moisturizing the scalp; this results in dandruff-free hair.

This moss is also a rich source of vitamin E, which can help promote hair growth.

Larch Tree Extract conditions the hair to improve manageability and combing. It reduces hair frizz in humid conditions, reduces static and flyaways, and even protects the hair from heat damage. It also has a regenerative effect.

These natural ingredients will be sure to quench the thirst on your hair without feeling too heavy.

Who’s It For?

The Sap Moss Shampoo by Aveda is perfect for curly hair textures, it can be used on any thirsty hair type, but since curly hair tends to be the driest of them all, it tends to suit this hair type best as it hydrates weightlessly.

This also makes it perfect for finer hair types that desperately need hydration but don’t like moisturizing shampoos as they are too heavy. This shampoo and conditioner is really the perfect balance between hydration and weight.

Anyone can really benefit from this shampoo as long as anyone needs a little hydration.

What We Think Of The Sap Moss Shampoo At Beautists:

I personally love this duo to quench the thirst for brittle, unmanageable hair as it provides that ultimate hydration SOS. It reinvigorates dry and lifeless hair without the worry of weighing it down.

Since larch extract seals in moisture to survive long, cold, northern winters in Iceland by holding twice its weight in water to survive winter droughts, it makes the perfect ingredient for a hydration kick. The coconut infusion also helps with this moisture retention.

The great thing about coconut is that it is super lightweight and penetrating. It restores protein loss, is full of fatty acids, and even helps strengthen the hair from within. The Kukui infusion is also super moisturizing too.

In terms of hydration, Beautists gives Sap Moss a big thumbs up!

As for the aroma, it has a sweet and woody tone, best known for most of the products within the range. Since it is naturally derived, it has a very earthy scent with the balance of floral jasmine, still addictive if you ask me.

Plus, with Aveda’s promise of being sustainable, vegan, and environmentally responsible like the rest of the range, Aveda wins hand’s down. Their natural ingredients and 100% wind power have changed the game and marked the future of hair.

So not only does the Sap Moss get a thumbs up, it gets a green thumbs up.
